Utah Strobist Meetup Recap

I attended the Utah Strobist Flickr group this week.  It was held at the Salt Lake City Library.  We had three stations setup: one was a powered strobe setup with pocket wizards, one with a Canon setup using TTL, and a third using a Nikon setup.  The goal was to shoot small items on tables and play around with different lighting techniques.

I only took a few pictures because I was too busy watching other photogs, for these shots we were using two powered strobes with pocket wizards and an acrylic board for the reflection provided by Kim Guanzon

I had to leave the group early but was impressed with the group of people willing to share and instruct.  I will be attending this group as well as the Photowalking Utah group this month for more fun.  I enjoy learning from other photogs and rubbing shoulders with everyone.

That top was is super. I think the horizontal lines in the background really set it apart.

Sounds like a good time was had. Sorry I missed it.

Great write up and examples. That top shot with the cool blue tint is excellent. Fun seeing you there, and the event was very informative for me as well. I didn't take all that many photos either, but I came away with a lot.
