This past weekend my wife and I spent a few days at our family cabin in Wyoming. The fall colors were in full so we took advantage of the perfect weather and spent some time driving around. I love wooden barns, they have a lot of character. This one in particular caught my eye with the tin roof and trees in the background.
All my images are shot in Camera Raw, It's been my goal this year to spend less time in post-production and get the shot right in the camera. To achieve this I used a Graduated ND Filter to keep the sky from blowing out. Total time spent in Adobe Lightroom to produce this final image which will be hanging on my wall was less than one minute.

Beautiful scene and well exposed. I've been thinking a lot of getting a graduated ND for the very reasons you describe.
