Project[52] - three

This past weekend I was able to play around with a macro lens I purchased recently.  I was curious to see how close I could get to random objects in my house.  My Canon G11 was sitting on the table so I stood in front of my north facing window for natural light to avoid using a flash.  I was amazed at how close I could get the lens to focus on objects and the depth of field is amazing.  For this week's post I wanted to do something pertaining to macro and self portrait.  I placed the focus point on the lens viewer glass on my G11 to capture my reflection.  After reviewing the image on my computer I noticed that I was able to capture a double self portrait, I love surprises like this. I purchased this lens for a specific project I'm getting started on.  I'm hoping to share what that project is once I get things established and under way.  more to come -

Very cool concept and kudos on the double portrait in the reflections. I am always amazed at the quality & capabilities of many modern point-and-shoot level cameras. We added a Canon S95 to the household, and I look forward to trying it a bit more.

I think that lens is my favorite one. I've had it for about six years now. I found a couple of photos on my blog that were taken with it:
